大阪大学は、長きにわたり交流を続けてきたASEAN地域の大学との強固な連携のもと、現地で教育プログラムや共同研究を行うためASEANキャンパスを、タイ、インドネシア、ベトナム、ブルネイ、マレーシアの5か国に設置してきました。

ASEANキャンパスを活用することで海外にいながらにして大阪大学と同水準の教育・研究を提供することができるようになりました。現地施設やオンラインを活用した教育と実際に来日して行われる教育を組み合わせた多様な教育プログラムを通して、ASEAN諸国と日本の懸け橋になれるような高度人材育成を目指しています。

また、ASEAN各国の社会や文化に根差した課題解決に取組み、国内外の産官学が共創することで、本学の研究成果を広く世界で活かし、社会実装してまいります。ASEAN地域から優秀な留学生を本学に受入れることで、文化、宗教、生活習慣の異なる方々が大阪大学に多様性をもたらし、日本人学生の国際性も涵養しています。本事業を通して世界で活躍できる人材を育成し、ASEAN地域と日本の交流が益々発展することを目指します。

Osaka University has long been engaged in educational programs and joint research with universities in the ASEAN region. Based on these strong partnerships, we have established Osaka University ASEAN Campuses in five countries: Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, and Malaysia.

These campuses enable us to offer education and research opportunities equal to that of Osaka University without traveling to Japan. Through diverse programs that utilize both facilities in ASEAN countries and online education, as well as education in Japan, we aim to foster individuals who can serve as bridges between ASEAN countries and Japan.

Through this project, Osaka University aims to apply research outcomes to society by co-creating with industry, government, and academia overseas and in Japan to solve issues underlying the societies and cultures of ASEAN countries. We hope to cultivate the global literacy of Japanese students by accepting outstanding international students from the ASEAN region. These students, with various cultural backgrounds, religions, and lifestyles, will provide diversity to Osaka University. Through this, we would like to educate students who can play an active role in the world and develop further collaboration between Japan and the ASEAN region.
