大阪大学は、2022年４月に、ウクライナの人道危機の状況に鑑み、大学における学修あるいは研究活動の継続が難しくなった学生、研究者の一時的な受入れを決定しました。

In response to the crisis in Ukraine, Osaka University decided to accept students and researchers facing difficulty in continuing their studies and research in April 2022.

それ以降、ウクライナから避難してきた７名の学生とウクライナへの帰国を見合わせた２名の学生を支援してきました。（下段「支援の状況」参照）

Since then, the university has been supporting 7 students who evacuated from Ukraine and 2 students who postponed their return to Ukraine. (See “Current status of support” below.)

このような支援を確実に行えるよう安定した財源を確保するため、本学の未来基金のもとに支援対象等を指定した特定基金「大阪大学国際人道支援基金」を立ち上げております。

To secure stable financial resources to provide such support, Osaka University has established the Osaka University Global Humanitarian Support Fund under the Osaka University Foundation for the Future.

本基金は、今回の事態で経済的困難に直面している本学の留学生への支援に止まらず、混沌とする世界情勢の中で、今後同様の危機的状況が生じた際にも迅速な人道支援を行うことを目的としております。本基金にお寄せいただいたご支援は、国際人道上の観点から困難に直面している学生や研究者の支援の一助とすべく、継続的に活用して参りますので、その旨ご理解のほどお願いいたします。

This fund was established not only for international students at Osaka University facing hardship due to the current crisis. It is also intended to provide prompt humanitarian aid in similar crisis situations that may arise in the future. Donations made to this fund will continuously be for providing humanitarian relief to students and researchers in need.

海外における紛争、テロ、大規模自然災害、経済危機等の危機的状況の発生により、修学や研究の実施が困難となった学生・研究者に対し、以下の支援を行います。
The fund will provide support to students and researchers facing difficulty in continuing their studies and research due to critical situations such as armed conflicts, terrorism, large-scale natural disasters, and economic crises outside Japan as outlined below.

（１）学生・研究者受入れ支援（渡日前の手続き・相談窓口設置）
（２）授業料等支援（学生を対象）
（３）渡航費支援
（４）住居費支援（本学宿舎の提供等含む）
（５）生活費支援
（６）その他、学生チューターの配置、日常生活や同伴家族に関する相談への対応等
1. Accepting students and researchers (assisting with procedures before traveling to Japan, establishing consultation opportunities)
2. Tuition fees (for students)
3. Fees for travel to Japan
4. Housing expenses (including offering university housing facilities)
5. Living expenses
6. Other forms of assistance, such as assigning student tutors and providing consultation services on daily life in Japan and for accompanying family members.

大阪大学は、ウクライナの惨状に鑑み、大学における学修あるいは研究活動の継続が難しくなった学生、研究者を一時的に受入れ、生活支援を含めた学修・研究の場を提供することを2022年4月22日に発表したところです。
In response to the crisis in Ukraine, Osaka University announced on April 22, 2022 that it would accept students and researchers facing difficulty in continuing their studies and research and offer educational and research opportunities including support in daily life.

発表以降、問い合わせのあった学生と丁寧にやり取りをしながら受入準備を進めており、2022年5月下旬に最初の2名が無事に到着しました。
Since the announcement, the university has made preparations to accept students from Ukraine while replying to inquiries from applicants, with two of those students arriving safely at the university in late May 2022.

6月8日現在で前述の2名を含めて5名の受入を決定しており、今後も引き続き受入を進めてまいります。
As of June 8, 2022, the university has decided to accept 5 students including 2 students as mentioned above and will continue to accept more.

5名の受入以降も受入を進めております。7月下旬にも１名が到着し、8月下旬にもさらに1名が到着の予定です。
8月1日現在で本学の支援により6名の学生が本学のキャンパスで学んでおり、今後も引き続き支援を続けてまいります。

After accepting 5 students, the university has continued to accept students. One student arrived safely at the university in late July and one more student will arrive in late August. As of August 1, the university has supported 6 Ukrainian students studying on the campus so far and will continue to support.

8月下旬に到着予定であった1名が10月28日にようやく到着しました。
ウクライナからポーランドへの出国手続きが厳しくなったことが原因の１つです。
ロシアによるウクライナ侵攻の終結の兆しが見えない中、学生たちが安心して修学できるよう支援を続けてまいります。

One student who was scheduled to arrive in late August finally arrived in Japan on October 28th.
One of the reasons is that the boarder restriction from Ukraine to Poland have become stricter.
With no end in sight to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the university will continue to support Ukrainian students so that they can study with peace of mind.

2022年8月まで短期プログラムで本学に在籍していた2名のウクライナ学生が、依然として深刻な状況にあるウクライナへの帰国を見合わせております。
大阪大学では、この2名の学生に対しても、9月以降在籍を認め、支援を行っております。

Two Ukrainian students enrolled in the short-term program until August 2022 have postponed their return to Ukraine, where the situation is still serious.
Osaka University has accepted these two students from September onwards and is providing support.
